Software Freedom Day is a
global celebration and education of why transparent and
sustainable technologies are now more important than ever. With more
than 280 teams participating, it is a fantastic event to get your
schools and communities involved in. Software Freedom Day (SFD) is
a celebrated every year worldwide on 3rd Saturday of every September.
This year it is on 20th September, 2014.
NOSK (Nepal Open Source Klub) is
celebrating this SFD at NCIT (Nepal College of Information Technology),
Balkumari, Lalitpur, premises with new ideas and innovation.
Following are the events going to be held on the day:
1. Distro Demo – Demonstration of various Linux Operating System
2. SFD Specials – Demonstration of various open source software/technologies for different
groups
3. USB Linux Installation Camp – Bring your USB Drive and we install Linux on them on the
spot
4. Linux Rescue Cell – We will help you solve any problems that you have encounter in Linux
5. Talk Shows /Presentations – Talks on various topics
6. Satasat – Come and exchange the open resources you have / with us
7. Photobooth – Click selfies with your friends/groups
8. Open Art – Flow your imagination in canvas
9. Food Stall – Food Stall for visitors
10. Fedora Repository Launch – We plan to launch a repository for Fedora in Nepal
